Hi everyone, nice to see some familiar names on the site. I attended Grades 6,7,8 at St. Mary's Separate School and Grades 9 and 10 at ADHS back in the sixties and seventies. Cheers.

Hi! I lived in Almonte in the 80's as a teenager and young adult. I used to jump off the train bridge into the river. It was fun.

Joan - i certainly remember you, Nancy (still miss our chats), your brother Abbie - was a terrific skater - backflips/twirling etc. The Peanut Parade -was a big occasion- I wonder how Almonte came to having this parade - someone worked for Planter's Peanuts?? Maybe someone knows. I will email you today and catch up on the past 40+ years.

I was born and raised in Almonte. I am related to the Munro and Becket family. I left the area in the late 60's and have only been back a couple of times since. I have a niece still living in the area. I remember the Majaury's, Freddie Leach, Janet & Brian Drynan, Elaine Napier, Joanne Meehan, and the Porteous families. I couldn't put a face to them all now but it is nice to read up and it would be nice to get in touch with some of those people. I lived near the water town and the town has grown quit a bit since I saw it last. Does anyone remember the Donkey Baseball games and the Peanut parade that was held every year what a laugh that was. Do they still have those events anymore? Have an nice summer everyone.

I'm researching for Graham relatives from Carleton Place. My Great Grandfather David James Graham was born in Ireland and settled in Carleton Place with his wife Margaret Kelly. One of his son's (my grandfather David James Graham) was born either in Carleton Place or Ottawa in 1877. If anyone knows more info not sure when the son died. It's a long story and would love to find out more. I have been looking for about 40 years now and I won't rest until I find out the rest of the story.

Watch your email! I just got an email asking for "friendship" from a Jessica. She said she saw my profile on this site. I deleted it as "she' did not say who she was and what kind of "friendship" she wanted.

Hello! I'm happy to know that there is a town named ALMONTE in Ontario, Canada. As i browse on the photos all I can say is wow, the natural beauty is well preserved like ours in Puerto Princesa City. I browsed further the internet and I found another beautiful place called ALMONTE in Andalucia[Sta. Lucia], Spain. Hi! to all Almonteans.
